I finally found a 'deal' at a liquidation store that wasn't actually a deal

I stopped by one of those liquidation stores off Highway 99 last weekend, the kind that sells pallets of returned stuff. Everyone online raves about them, but I walked out with a bad taste. They had a big name-brand air fryer marked down from $120 to $70, which sounds great. But when I looked closer, the box was dented, the cord was frayed, and the basket had rust spots. For $70 I can get a brand new one on sale from a regular store with a warranty. I just don't get why people think getting a broken product for 40% off is a win. Has anyone else had better luck at these places or am I missing something?

That air fryer story totally changed my mind about liquidation stores. I used to think they were genius for scoring deals, but now I see it's more like buying someone else's headache.

Used to be a regular at a liquidation outlet near my office, thought I was SO clever. Then I bought a "brand new" espresso machine that basically melted on the counter after three uses. Took that lesson to heart REAL quick, now I just stick to clearance at normal stores.
