Switched my opinion on expensive laptops after my cheap one died mid-job

My $300 laptop just killed its hard drive while I was in the middle of quoting a flooring job for a client in Portland. Had to borrow my neighbor's ancient Chromebook just to finish the invoice. Has anyone else had a budget laptop fail at the worst possible time?

Totally feel your pain man. That's the absolute worst timing for a machine to give up the ghost, right in the middle of a paying job. I had a cheap laptop literally start smoking during a client call once, scared the guy half to death. It's one of those hard lessons that sometimes you really do get what you pay for with electronics. Hope you got that invoice out okay and the Chromebook didn't drive you too crazy.
