Unpopular opinion: MacBooks are overrated for everyday use

I heard someone at my local coffee shop raving about their MacBook battery lasting 15 hours, but my $600 Dell has been going strong for 8 hours after 2 years. Has anyone else found that pricey laptops don't always beat the mid-range ones for just browsing and Netflix?

Hang on, 8 hours after 2 years on a $600 Dell? That battery life must be a miracle, most mid range Windows laptops I see drop to like 4 or 5 hours after a year.

Dude are you actually getting 8 hours on a $600 Dell after 2 years? What's your secret cause my buddy's Inspiron barely gets 4 hours and it's only 18 months old.
