Rant: Solar panels seem like a no-brainer for the planet, but my wallet is screaming no.

My power bill is crazy high, and I want to cut my carbon footprint by switching to solar. The upfront cost is huge, and I'm not sure if the long-term savings will ever happen. Is shelling out for solar panels a smart move for both the environment and my bank account, or am I about to waste a ton of cash?

Perovskite solar tech advances so fast current panels might be outdated before you finish paying them off.

Watched my neighbor's new panels become basically old tech before his loan was even half paid off.

People forget how fast solar tech moves. Those panels you buy now might be junk in five years when newer, cheaper ones come out. Look at how battery storage prices have dropped, same thing will happen with panels. You could be stuck with old tech while your neighbor gets a better system for half the cost. It's like buying a big TV right before the new model hits shelves. That upfront cost hurts even more if your setup is obsolete before it pays for itself.
