Heads up for anyone hiring a commercial cleaning service in the metro area. We used a big national chain for our office building for a quarter, then switched to a local Detroit company. The difference in quality and attention to detail was night and day.

I had a similar experience with a big carpet cleaning franchise about five years ago, and honestly the difference wasn't that dramatic for me. Both companies missed the same corner in the break room, so your mileage may vary depending on who actually shows up. Not to totally dismiss your story @janaw11, but maybe we're giving local folks too much credit sometimes.

The smaller company I hired actually showed up twenty minutes late, so that matters too.
