Bali coworking spaces changed my mind about working from cafes

Was always team coffee shop nomad. Loved the noise. Then spent a week at Outpost in Ubud last month. $150 for a month of fast fiber internet and a desk. No hunting for outlets. People actually work there. You catch yourself slacking less. Anyone else find switching to a proper space worth the cash?

$150 just to see @janaw11 outwork me from across the room.

Jumped on the Outpost bandwagon last year and it was a REVELATION. No more pretending that $4 latte is a "desk rental" while I fight for a damn power strip next to the bathroom. My productivity went from "maybe I'll reply to that email" to actually finishing stuff before lunch. The only downside is now I can't blame bad wifi for being lazy. It's just me and my own lack of focus.

maybe I'll reply to that email" hit way too close to home. I used to tell myself I was "in the zone" at some loud cafe, but really I was just nursing a cold latte and refreshing my inbox every 30 seconds. Switched to a proper space last month and suddenly realized I'm not a slow worker, I just needed a desk with zero distractions. Now I can't blame the bad wifi or the noisy blender anymore, it's just me staring at a blank screen with no excuses. Still cheaper than four lattes a day though, right?
