Hot take: I was wrong about needing a co-working space in Medellin

I spent $200 a month on a fancy Selina co-working pass for my first three months, thinking it was essential for focus. After my lease ended, I just worked from my apartment and a few quiet cafes for a week. My output was the same, and I saved the cash. Has anyone else found the whole dedicated desk thing to be overrated in certain cities?

That Selina pass is a classic trap for new remote workers. You pay for the idea of a professional space, but you're just buying expensive wifi and a chair you don't own. I did the same thing in Lisbon last year and felt like a sucker after week two. The real work happens in your head, not in a room with overpriced coffee. If your apartment is quiet enough, you've already got everything you need.

Maybe it's not that deep, @grace_perry44.
