PSA: I visited my cousin's house in Boise and saw his 'fixed' deck railing wobble like crazy.
He used drywall screws for the whole repair job, which convinced me to never skip checking fastener specs again, so what's the worst material mismatch you've seen someone try to use?

Oh man, @the_sandra, asking the REAL question. He used drywall screws for the whole thing, I swear. Saw him putting them right into the pressure-treated wood. That whole deck is gonna be a spring-loaded trap in a year. Just waiting for someone to lean on the rail and get a surprise flight into the yard.
