I was dead wrong about those cheap shop vac filter bags

Had a buddy at work keep telling me to use those felt filter bags in my shop vac instead of the paper ones. I figured it was a gimmick and didn't want to spend the extra $5 a pack. Finally grabbed a 3-pack of the cheapo ones from Harbor Freight for like $8 last month. First time emptying the vac, the bag was full of fine dust that used to blow right through the paper and clog the main filter. My shop vac actually kept its suction way longer. I still think most garage product upgrades are overhyped but this one surprised me. Anyone else find a simple cheap fix that actually works?

Hang on, is a shop vac filter bag really a big enough deal to call yourself "dead wrong" over?

Try the drywall dust bags too, they catch even more fine particles and last forever.
