Picked the cheap paint over the mid-grade one and now I'm redoing a whole wall

I was at Home Depot last Saturday trying to decide between the $18 Behr can and the $32 Behr can for my living room accent wall. I figured hey, paint is paint, right? Well after three coats I can still see the old color bleeding through in spots and it's patchy as heck. Now I gotta sand it all down and start over which is gonna cost me more time and money lol. Anyone else tried to save a few bucks on paint and totally regretted it?

Three coats in and I swear that $18 Behr is just tinted water pretending to be paint. Hope you didn't skip the primer too!

Yeah, "tinted water pretending to be paint" pretty much nails it. It's like everything these days is made to look good on the shelf but falls apart the second you actually try to use it. I see it everywhere, not just in paint. Clothes that shrink after one wash, tools that break if you look at them wrong, appliances that cost a fortune but last three years. Seems like the whole world is just getting cheaper and cheaper while the price tags go up.
