Finally got the reclaimed barn wood accent wall in my living room up after a month of evenings, and it looks amazing.
I found the wood at a salvage yard in Springfield for $200, spent three weeks cleaning and planing every piece, and just finished installing it last night with my old DeWalt brad nailer, so has anyone else tackled a big wall project like this and have tips on sealing it without changing the color too much?

Sounds great. My own accent wall project is why my garage is now a permanent wood storage facility.

Okay, a month of evenings is some serious dedication, but that price for the wood is a total win. Sealing without darkening is the tricky part. A matte water-based polyurethane is usually the go-to because oil-based stuff will absolutely give it a yellow tint, like a bad fake tan. Do a test spot on a scrap piece first, obviously. And @kelly61, I feel you on the permanent wood storage, my shed is basically just a home for off-cuts now that I'm too attached to throw away.
