Call me stubborn, but I still draft section views without relying on 3D cutaways
Everyone says 3D models make section views easy, but I find drawing them by hand improves my understanding of the assembly. It forces me to think through each layer, which catches issues early. Might take a minute longer, but my prints are cleaner.
Our shop still does hand drawn sections for the first round of complex details. The extra time forces you to stare at the problem long enough to see the real conflict, not just the obvious one. A 3D cut is great for checking your work, but it won't make you think the same way.
