Drafting software subscription versus one-time buy... which one got you?
I dropped $1,800 on a perpetual license for TurboCAD Pro last spring thinking I'd dodge those monthly fees. Six months in and they rolled out a new file format update that my version can't open, so now I'm stuck sending old DXF files to clients who want the latest. Some guys at the shop swear by the $95/month DraftSight subscription because they always get updates and support. Which route has burned you less over time?

Stick with the subscription. Getting stuck on old file formats hurts way more than a monthly bill.
