Finally got my dimensioning style to stop looking like a toddler drew it
Honestly, for like the first year I was drafting, my dimension lines were a total mess. I'd just throw them anywhere, the spacing was all over, and my boss would always have to fix them before anything went out. About six months ago, I started forcing myself to use a strict 3/8 inch offset from the object line for every single dimension, no matter what. I set up a specific layer just for that spacing and made a template. The difference between a drawing from last November and one I did yesterday is crazy. The new ones look clean, professional, and way easier for the guys in the shop to read. It took a solid month of being really slow and checking my work, but now it's just automatic. Has anyone else had a simple rule like that completely change how your drawings look?

That strict 3/8 inch rule is smart. Did you find it messed with your workflow at first, like on really tight spaces?
