Heard a senior drafter at the Portland firm call 3D modeling 'just a fancy way to draw lines'
That mindset is why their shop still takes two weeks for revisions we'd do overnight. Anyone else's team stuck in the 2D past?

Honestly, I was the same way for years. I thought 3D was just for fancy client pictures. Then we had to rework a whole stairwell because the 2D plans missed a pipe clash. Seeing that model show the problem in five minutes, after we'd already drafted it wrong, flipped a switch for me. It's not about pretty pictures, it's about catching your own mistakes before they get built.

Wait, they still take two weeks for revisions? That's crazy. We had a client change an entire floor plan layout last Tuesday and we sent back the new renders by Thursday morning.
