My buddy at the job site kept dodging my question about his tape measure for 20 minutes
We were framing a garage in Phoenix last week and this guy kept measuring twice and getting different numbers every time. I asked him straight up if his tape was busted and he mumbled something about "technique" for way too long. Finally I grabbed his tape and the hook was bent a full 1/8th inch off, he just didn't want to admit he'd been using a bad tool for 6 months. Has anyone else had to physically check someone's gear to get a straight answer out of them?

Nah, @schmidt.willow, you're way too harsh - maybe his technique was actually the problem.

Dude's got a point though. 6 months of bad measurements means he's been cutting everything wrong. That's on him for being too proud to own up.
