inMy brother just told me he books flights on Tuesday at 3pm and I think he's full of it
Yeah, the "travel myth" part is spot on. I mean, I've tried all those little hacks over the years, like clearing cookies or using incognito mode. It always feels like you're just chasing a rumor and the prices barely move. Maybe airlines just change stuff whenever they feel like it.

inMy friend said he doesn't bother with a password on his home wifi
Man, I used to think the same way until my neighbor got his bank info stolen. Somebody hopped on his open network and just watched everything he did online. Now I use a long password and change it every few months.

inI thought pocket screws were just for quick fixes until a job in Portland last month.
Portland's old growth fir framing is actually pretty solid, black.jordan. The softness you get is from decades of settling, not the wood itself. I've used pocket screws to pull cabinets into those wavy plaster walls by hitting the studs. You just need to pre-drill the stud to avoid splitting that old lumber.

inAppreciation post: How a dying tree in my yard taught me about soil health
Pat asked about fixing compaction fast. I tried compost but honestly just used my own shredded leaves from last fall. Worked okay. My real trick was just not stepping on the wet soil anymore. Felt dumb when I realized I was the one packing it down.

inMy sister said my 'emergency' cash requests were actually a pattern
It's wild how many people live in that constant small crisis mode. You see it with people always rushing to the store for one forgotten ingredient, or scrambling to find a charger at 2% battery. It's just putting out tiny fires instead of having a basic system. Your $50 payday thing is the fix, it's building the system so the small stuff stops feeling like an emergency.
