Why does nobody talk about the learning curve on those new magnetic gate latches?
I installed one for a client in Mesa last week and it took me three tries to get the alignment right for a solid click. Anyone have a trick for setting them up faster?
Actually had the opposite experience last week (weird, right). Got one set up in under ten minutes with just a shim and a level. Maybe it's the brand you're using?
Look up the patent filings from the 1980s, the original engineering drawings call them gate latches. The term mag-catch came from the marketing department later to sound more technical. It's one of those things where the correct name depends on if you're talking to a designer or an end user.
