My plan to build a perfect raised garden bed fell apart in one season
I spent about $200 on cedar boards and soil last spring, following a plan I saw online. The problem was I didn't check if my yard got enough sun first. After 3 months, my tomatoes were tiny and my peppers never grew. I learned the hard way that a good plan needs to start with the basics, not just the building part. Has anyone else had a garden fail because of something simple you missed?

Forget the basics, just build something cool and figure it out later lol.

Have you ever tried that and ended up with a huge mess you can't fix? I mean, skipping the basics feels fun at first, but then you hit a wall because nothing works right. It's way more frustrating to go back and learn the simple stuff after everything's already built wrong. Maybe it's just me, but taking a little time upfront saves so much headache later. You can still build cool things, you just have a way stronger base to build them on.
