Vent: The neighborhood cleanup day we organized only had me and one other guy show up.

Planned for weeks, but people just didn't come out like they said they would. Really shows that talk is cheap without a clear leader pushing it.

Ugh that's the worst. Happens every time with this stuff. Everyone loves the idea of a clean neighborhood until they have to actually pick up a trash bag. It's all talk until someone has to be the adult and make it real. Honestly if it's just you two, maybe grab a coffee after and call it a win for trying. At least you did something, which is more than most.

Why do people always have better things to do when it's time to pick up trash? It's like they think the bags will fill themselves. Maybe we should just call it a 'street treasure hunt' to make it sound fun. But you're right, coffee with a friend beats herding cats any day. At least you tried, which is more than most can say.

Man, that's rough. You know what gets me? The people who DIDN'T show up will probably be the first to complain about the litter next week. They want the result but won't do the work, and that's the real problem. It makes the whole idea of community feel fake.
