Rant: My Milwaukee cordless trim nailer jammed on a cold morning job in Denver
I was installing some engineered hardwood in a house that was about 50 degrees, and the gun kept jamming every third nail. I learned the hard way that the cold grease inside gets too thick, so I had to warm the whole unit up with a hairdryer before it ran smooth. Has anyone else run into this with their cordless tools when it's chilly?

Had the same thing happen with my DeWalt finish nailer in a Chicago winter. Garage was maybe 45 degrees and it started acting up. Took me forever to figure out the grease was the problem. Now I keep the battery and tool inside the truck cab overnight if I know it's a cold job. That hairdryer trick is a lifesaver though, had to do that once before I learned. Cold just wrecks the lube in these things.

Found the opposite with my old Milwaukee impact. Cold seemed to make the grease thicker but it actually ran smoother once it got going.

Yeah, my old drill did that too, felt like the grease was frozen solid for the first minute.
