Rant: My Milwaukee cordless trim nailer jammed on a cold morning job in Denver

Found the opposite with my old Milwaukee impact. Cold seemed to make the grease thicker but it actually ran smoother once it got going.

A job in a 1920s apartment building in Boston made me rethink how I handle old wiring. Do you always replace it or try to patch it up?

Honestly, patching it up is just kicking the can down the road. Old wiring is a safety risk, not just an inconvenience. A full replacement is the only responsible fix.

My internet went out and the two support calls were night and day

My old ISP in Austin had a tiered support system that basically punished you for calling. The first line reps had zero tools and a script, but if you got transferred to "Tier 2," they had real diagnostic access. The trick was you had to say "line noise" or "packet loss" to even get past the first gatekeeper. It wasn't about the rep's skill, it was about a company policy designed to block access to actual help.

Just finished a job in the Gulf and saw two totally different ways to handle a silt-out

That other crew probably still has silt in their coffee cups by now.
