Had a client in Bellingham ask me why I was saving all the wood chips

I was cleaning up after a big maple removal and he just stood there watching me pile them into the truck. He said, 'My neighbor uses those for his garden paths, you could probably give them away.' Now I post on the local Facebook group and people pick them up same day. Anyone else found a good use for chip waste?

Totally get that, had the same thing happen last year. Felt like such a waste just dumping them at the green waste site. Now we drop a load at the community garden whenever we're nearby, and they love it for mulch. Saves us a trip and helps them out, it's a win-win.

Love that idea. Our neighborhood compost group does something similar, they even have a drop-off spot with a sign for garden donations. Makes you feel less guilty about all those branches.
