Just realized that choice between saving Ellie or the whole world in The Last of Us has a much creepier meaning if you think about Joel's daughter dying first
I picked Ellie like most people did but it hit me at 2am that Joel basically got a second chance to save his daughter and would never make the logical choice no matter what, has anyone else had a game decision feel way darker after sleep?

Oh geez, are we really overthinking this that much? I mean sure, Joel lost his daughter, but idk if that makes the whole choice "creepy" or whatever. It's a pretty straightforward emotional thing, most parents would probably do the same. Maybe it's just me but I feel like the game was pretty upfront about why he did what he did, it wasn't some hidden message or anything. That ending was already dark enough without us digging for more meaning at 2am.

Drove cross country once with a buddy who kept trying to turn every gas station interaction into a deep philosophical debate. Sometimes a guy is just buying beef jerky, you know?
