Last summer my cousin left a dresser at my place assuming I'd fix it up. I used to just say yes to stuff like that to be nice... but doing that one favor meant she started telling everyone I was her free restoration service. It totally changed how I see these asks. Now I'd be honest and say you'd love to help but your time and materials have real cost.
Ugh that exact thing happened with my baking... made cookies for a neighbor's kid one time and suddenly I was getting texts asking for two dozen cupcakes for a birthday party. It's crazy how one yes turns into an open invitation for them to assume your hobby is their free resource. I had to shut it down fast because butter and sugar aren't cheap!
