inWarning: I used a cash envelope for groceries and a separate jar for gas. The envelope saved me $80 last month.

inI saw a stylist do a full bleach service without a consultation first
That "trust me" line is a huge red flag. I had a client come in with a band of broken hair right at her crown because her last stylist didn't ask about her at home box color. It took months of careful treatments to get it feeling okay again. Skipping the talk just shows you care more about speed than the hair on someone's head. It's the most important step, period.

inWondering if compostable wax strips are worth the hype and extra cost
Tried a box of those strips for my own leg waxing last summer and honestly, the ripping thing is real. I had the same worry as @ruby290 about them actually breaking down, so I called my city's compost place and they straight up said they don't take that type of material. Ended up feeling like a waste of money and good intentions. For my business, I focus on buying bulk supplies to cut down on packaging waste instead, which feels like a more solid win. You gotta pick the eco fights you can actually win without messing up the service.

inVent: A client in Phoenix last month insisted on a bleach-and-tone in one sitting against my advice.
Sounds like she got exactly what she asked for.

inHot take: I thought the old-timer's trick of using a potato to find a suction leak was a joke.
Wait, how exactly did @sarah_kelly78's grandpa use the onion for that?
