PSA: Bad varnish batch at the Oak Avenue supply store
I bought some varnish from the supply store on Oak Avenue a couple days ago. Used it on a cherry dresser I was fixing up for a neighbor. The finish never set right and stayed sticky for way too long. When I went back, the clerk told me a few other folks had the same problem with that specific lot. They think something went wrong when it was made. Now I have to scrape it all off and start over, which is a real pain. If you get stuff from there, make sure to look at the batch number on the can. It might keep your project from getting messed up.

Ugh, did you get the batch that ends in 7B? I had the EXACT same sticky mess on a picture frame last week. It smelled weird too, like chemicals that weren't mixed right. Total waste of a weekend.
