A random encounter at the park made me see limestone in a new light

I never paid much attention to limestone outcrops. Then this older fellow at the local park pointed out a layer full of ancient shell fossils. I mean, it was like a whole old sea floor right there. Idk, it just clicked for me that rocks are not just sitting there, they tell stories.

Actually, it's TOTALLY possible because limestone often comes from old ocean floors. I've found shells stuck in park rocks before, and it's a neat way to see history. Just take a closer look at the stone next time and you MIGHT be surprised.
