Last Tuesday was the worst day for court filings I have seen in 6 years at the Brampton courthouse

I sat in the small claims waiting room for 4 hours just to file a simple $800 dispute, and the clerk told me their computer system was down since Monday. The guy next to me had been there 3 times already because he kept missing the right forms for a landlord tenant issue. Has anyone else had a run of bad luck lately with the court backlog here?

Did the clerk even give you a rough timeline for when they'd fix their system?

Jessica, the clerk told me it had been down since Monday and they had no idea when it would be back up. They said to call ahead next time, which is kind of useless when their phones go to voicemail all day anyway. The real problem is the Brampton courthouse has been running on ancient systems for years. Last winter a power surge wiped out their entire filing database for a whole week. Small claims is always the worst too because they cram everyone into that one tiny waiting room.
