Just realized my local grocery store is a total scam for meat prices
I swung by the Food City on 12th Ave the other day to grab chicken thighs, and noticed the price was $4.99 a pound there. Then I drove 10 minutes to the Mexican market on Alameda and saw the exact same pack for $1.89 a pound. That's a $3.10 difference for the same thing, and I've been getting ripped off for months. Anyone else notice their regular store is marking up basics like crazy?

Saw a news article last week that said grocery stores jack up prices in richer neighborhoods because they know people won't drive across town to save a few bucks. The Mexican markets and Aldis always have way better deals on meat since they cater to folks who actually hunt for sales. Might be worth switching where you shop if you don't mind a short drive.
