My trip to the hardware store turned into a weird core workout

I went to Lowe's last Saturday just to grab a single lightbulb, but I ended up parked way out in the lot because it was packed. On my walk in, I noticed this older guy doing these tiny little side steps while carrying a bag of mulch... he was zigzagging between parked cars like it was some kind of obstacle course. It hit me that I do the same thing dodging puddles or cracks on the sidewalk, sort of a mini leg day without meaning to. By the time I got to the door, my hips actually felt a bit looser from all that weaving around. Has anyone else caught themselves making errands into accidental exercise?

My buddy Dale actually sprained his ankle doing that same weave-walk thing in a Home Depot parking lot last spring, dodged a shopping cart and clipped a curb instead. Now he walks in a straight line like a robot and still trips over his own feet. At least your hips got looser, mine just feel like rusty hinges from trying too hard to avoid nothing.

Man, that sucks for Dale. I hope his ankle healed up alright, dodging shopping carts is a dangerous game. @angelafisher, you and me both with the rusty hinge feeling, sometimes I pop like a bowl of cereal just getting out of my truck. It's wild how trying to be careful can backfire so hard, you end up worse off than if you just walked normal. Guess there's no winning with parking lots, they're basically obstacle courses designed to wreck us.
