I just figured out that nutrition labels don't show if my lunch is hurting the earth.

But is it really that big of a deal what one person eats? The_parker has a point about local food, but how much does my single lunch actually change things. It feels like we're worrying about a problem that's just too big.

Yeah, that hit me a while back. In my experience, I started just looking at where my food comes from. For example, I'll pick apples from a local farm stand instead of bagged ones from far away. Also, cutting down on meat, especially beef, made a big difference based on what I've read. Your mileage may vary, but these small swaps added up for me over time.

Actually, bagged apples from far away are more about the travel than the bag. Pre-bagged stuff just tends to come from further off. Maybe try buying them loose if the store has that option.
