That wrong-way driver on I-25 near Denver last Tuesday almost took out 3 cars before hitting the median, and the dashcam footage shows how easy it is to miss a car coming straight at you at night.

The guy was only going about 45 mph but with headlights reflecting off the road you just don't register an oncoming vehicle until they're 200 feet away, has anyone else had a close call like that where reaction time just wasn't enough?

Oh man, this hits close to home. I had almost the exact same thing happen to me on I-70 a couple years back. A dude was going the wrong way in the left lane and I swear I didn't see him until he was right on top of me. What saved me was that I always scan way far ahead on dark roads, like looking for the glow of headlights off guardrails or signs before I even see the actual car. I also learned to trust my gut when something feels off. That night I saw a weird flicker of light bouncing off the concrete barrier and slowed down without really knowing why, and it gave me those extra seconds to swerve. Honestly, if you're driving at night on highways with no streetlights, assume everyone around you might be an idiot and leave yourself an escape route. It's the only reason I'm still here to type this.

Could the headlight glare actually hide the car like a camouflage effect?
