Boss told me my invoices looked like a child wrote them. Brutal but true.

He was right. Big time. I used to just scribble down "pressure wash house $250" on a napkin or scrap paper. Got stiffed on 3 jobs in one month. Lost about $800 total. Now I print actual invoices with itemized lines. Customers actually pay faster. Who knew?

Quit using napkins yesterday. A clean invoice says you're a real business. Customers respect that.

I dropped napkins from my coffee shop back in October 2022. The first week some regulars complained but within a month nobody even noticed. My paper costs went down by about 40 bucks a month which adds up over time. Customers do seem to take the invoice more seriously now, like they're dealing with a professional outfit. It's funny how a tiny change like that shifts people's perception of your whole operation.
