Tried JB Weld on an engine block crack near Denver and it held for exactly 17 miles

My '94 F-150 had a hairline crack in the block near the water pump, so I figured I'd slap some JB Weld on it and see how far I got. It actually held pressure for about 15 minutes of driving, then started weeping coolant all over the I-70 on-ramp. Anyone else ever had that stuff fail in a weird spot on their beater?

Stop using JB Weld on engine blocks. That's not what it's for. It's epoxy for household repairs, not high heat and pressure. You need a real welding job on cast iron. That crack is only gonna get bigger. Either swap the motor or get a new truck. JB Weld is for fixing a broken handle on a coffee mug, not your daily driver.

Haven't seen people run JB Weld on a header before?
