Hot take: Bought a 6 year old iPad and it works better than my friend's new one

I was at a diner last week and my buddy kept complaining about his brand new tablet being slow already. I told him I just picked up a 2018 iPad Pro from a pawn shop for $250 and it runs circles around his. Why do people act like anything older than 2 years is e-waste?

Not knocking your win with that iPad Pro, those 2018 models are still solid. But just a heads up - that "6 year old" iPad probably got its last major software update around 2024, so you might start missing out on app support in another year or two. Still a good deal though.

Haha yeah that's probably me with my 2017 iPad still running on prayers and old apps. I swear every time I open something newer than a year old it just stares at me blankly like "you know we stopped supporting this, right?" Still, if it ain't completely broken, I'm gonna squeeze every last update out of it.
