Hit 100 hours of shop time this month and I'm torn on whether that's good or bad
I tracked every minute I spent on my basement renovation and came out to 102 hours in 30 days. That feels like a lot of progress but also a lot of time away from my family. Has anyone else kept a log and felt conflicted about the numbers?

I heard on a podcast that most people overestimate their work time by like 30%, so logging it honestly is already ahead of the game. My buddy's been tracking his renovation hours and he felt the same way, like he was missing out on stuff with his kids. But he started scheduling family time first and then fitting the shop work around it, which helped balance things. Did you have any specific goals for the basement that make the hours feel worth it?

That bit about scheduling family time first is exactly what helped me too @dylan_rodriguez. I blocked off Sunday mornings for a while and just told myself the workshop could wait, and it actually made the hours I did put in feel more focused. As for goals, I just wanted a dry space to store tools and maybe throw a table in there, nothing fancy.
