The calorie count on that protein bar was off by 40%
I was reading through a study from the University of Texas that tested 20 different protein bars. Found out most of them have way more calories than what's on the label. The one I was eating had 230 on the package but lab tests showed 320. Has anyone else looked up the actual numbers on what they're eating?

Did you always trust the labels before this?

Yeah "230 on the package but lab tests showed 320" is exactly the kind of thing that drives me nuts. This is part of a bigger pattern where companies just round down or use older data to make their stuff look healthier. I've noticed it with everything, not just protein bars. Those 100 calorie snack packs? They're often 120-130. "Low sodium" soup usually has more salt than the original recipe if you actually check the milligram count. Even the "serving size" games they play are a joke. Like who actually eats a third of a bag of chips? It's all designed to make you feel like you're eating less than you really are, and this protein bar thing is just the latest example of that same old trick.
