One person's feedback changed how I color grade everything now

I was showing a landscape piece at a local art walk last spring and this older photographer spent about 10 minutes pointing out my shadows were all crushed to black. He showed me his phone with a similar scene where the shadows had blue in them and it totally shifted how I approach depth in my digital paintings now. Has anyone else had a stranger's offhand comment completely change their workflow?

Sheet mask or hair mask first - I picked wrong and paid for it

So last Saturday I had a rare free evening and decided to treat myself. I had a fancy clay sheet mask and a deep conditioning hair mask sitting in my bathroom. I figured doing the hair mask first made sense since I could wrap my hair up and relax. Well 45 minutes later I peeled off the sheet mask and realized the clay had dried all crusty around my hairline from the hair mask oils. Took me 20 extra minutes in the sink to scrub it all off my skin. Has anyone else accidentally mixed up their mask order and ended up with a mess?

Swapped my DSLR for a 6 inch Dobsonian 2 months ago

I used to spend hours stacking and editing deep sky photos from my camera rig. Now I just sit outside with a 6 inch Orion SkyQuest Dob and look at the Andromeda Galaxy directly. No laptop, no cables, no processing. Took a trip to Cherry Springs State Park in Pennsylvania and a guy let me look through his 12 inch Dob, and I sold my camera setup the next week. Anybody else drop astrophotography for pure visual observing?

The day my GPS sent me up a cliff in Oregon

I was hiking the Rogue River Trail last spring and my phone said there was a shortcut to the next camp. Big mistake. After 45 minutes of scrambling up a goat path with my 40 pound pack, I realized I was literally on a cliff edge. A guy kayaking below yelled up that the trail was on the other side of the river the whole time. Has anyone else had their GPS lead them somewhere totally ridiculous?
