Update: A snapped rope during a prune job shifted how I handle team talks
Last Thursday, my crew was up in an oak tree (you know, the big one on Maple Street). We were doing a standard prune when a main support rope gave out. Luckily, no one got hurt, but it was close. That moment showed me that our quick morning huddles weren't enough. Now, I insist on a full gear check and a walk-through of the day's plan with everyone. It adds ten minutes to our start, but it's worth it for the safety. I guess sometimes you need a scare to remember the basics.
