My Etsy side gig imploded after 214 orders, here's the kicker

A buyer left a 1-star review claiming my candle labels were 'misleading' because the scent wasn't strong enough. I refunded them within the hour, but Etsy hid my whole shop for 5 days and sales dropped to zero. Has anyone fought a bogus review like this and actually gotten it removed?

Etsy dinging you for that is basically the system working as designed. One review shouldn't be able to nuke your shop, but their whole thing is protecting buyers, not sellers. You refunded fast, which is smart, but that doesn't change what the buyer put out there. The label said a scent, they didn't smell it strong enough, that's their truth, even if it's wrong. Fighting it just makes you look defensive to Etsy's bots. Take the five days, list some new stuff, maybe reword the labels to say 'subtle scent' and call it a lesson. Getting a removal is like winning the lottery, most people don't even try because they know it's a dead end.
