Got stuck halfway through a custom bookshelf build in my garage...

I was cutting the dados for the shelves on my table saw, and my neighbor came over to borrow a socket. I got talking, lost my place, and cut one dado a quarter inch off. Now the whole thing sits there, mocking me, because I don't want to scrap the plywood. How do you guys get back into a project after a dumb mistake like that?

Wait, you just left the saw running while you went to talk? That's how you lose a finger, man. I'd be more worried about that than the plywood.

My buddy filled his wrong dado with a contrasting wood strip and called it a happy accident.

Oh man, did you at least get the right socket back? That's the real test. We've all been there, just staring at the dumb wood like it grew the mistake itself. Honestly, I'd just go make a really loud, bad cut somewhere else on a scrap piece to get the frustration out, then figure out if you can fill it or just own it as a "design feature.
