PSA: That three-day stretch last June where I lost two clients and my dog got sick was the worst week I've had in 12 years of freelancing.
I spent 40 hours on a logo redesign only to have the client ghost me, then my other client blamed me for a typo their own intern made. Has anyone else had a string of bad luck that made you question if you should even keep going?

Yeah I started saying no to cheaper clients and things got way better.

That $500 client who haggled me down to $350 ended up being a nightmare with constant callbacks and late payments. @david701 did those cheaper clients actually start out seeming decent or did you get red flags early on? I had one guy who acted like he was doing me a favor by giving me work, then complained about every little thing. Did you just cut them off cold turkey or did you slowly phase them out?
