Last January I stripped a 1987 Trek 520 down to bare metal, planned a full touring rebuild, and got as far as the bottom bracket before losing steam. Over the next 6 months I took it apart and put it back together three more times, each time stopping at a different point like the brakes or the derailleur. Has anyone else hit a loop where you keep restarting the same project just to avoid the final 20 percent of assembly?
My 1991 Stumpjumper has been in pieces on the garage floor since October, and I've re-greased the headset bearings like four separate times just to feel like I did something. The wheels are literally done but I keep wandering off before the cables. There's something about cables and bar tape that makes my brain just leave the room.
