Saw a full abandoned aquaponics setup behind a feed store in rural Kansas

I was out near Emporia last month picking up chicken feed and noticed a whole greenhouse out back with tanks and PVC piping everywhere. Owner said it was built by a local college group 4 years ago and they just stopped coming. Everything is still there just sitting. Made me wonder how many community projects get started with good intentions then die. Has anyone else run into a project that just got left behind somewhere unexpected?
