The week my garage door spring snapped and I actually finished the backup cam install

Last Tuesday I was backing out for work when the spring let go with a sound like a gunshot. Scared the neighbors. But instead of panicking, I took it as a sign to finally do that backup cam I've had sitting in a box since March. Took four days total, had to redo the wiring twice because I kept tapping the wrong tail light assembly on my 2011 Outback. The spring was a $45 part from a place in Akron, and honestly the whole mess forced me to stop putting off every little thing on that car. I still have the headliner sagging and a cracked mirror, but the cam works. Has anyone else had a random failure actually kickstart their stalled project?

Fixed the leaky sunroof on my old Civic last month after a busted timing belt finally got me in the garage, and now I'm three other small jobs deep. Sometimes one dumb failure is all it takes to break the procrastination loop.
