Guy at the counter at Builders Source on Juan Tabo told me my swamp cooler pads were fine, they were not fine
Stopped in last Saturday to grab new pads for my swamp cooler before the heat hit and the older guy at the counter looked at the ones I brought in and said they had another season in them. I trusted him, put them back on, and by Wednesday my house was sitting at 84 degrees while the cooler ran all day. Pulled them off again and they were crusted solid with mineral buildup on the back side you could not see from the front. If you are on Albuquerque water, do not let anyone talk you out of swapping those pads every spring, they are like 12 bucks. Anyone else had a cooler guy tell them theirs were good when they clearly were not?
