Showerthought: my 1950s knob and tube wiring in my Nob Hill house finally got swapped out after 8 months of saving
I bought my place near Central and Carlisle back in 2023 and the outlets sparked every time I plugged in the vacuum, so I started saving $150 a paycheck to get it all redone. Last week a guy from Rio Rancho finished the whole panel and rewired the attic for $4,200, and my lights don't flicker anymore when the AC kicks on. Is $4,200 reasonable for a full rewire on a 1,100 sq ft house, or should I have gotten more quotes?
