TIL my $15 tube of caulk was garbage because a guy at the Rio Rancho hardware store told me to stop buying the cheap stuff
I was patching a leak around my kitchen window with the cheapest caulk I could find, and it split open again after two weeks. The old guy at the counter on Southern told me I was wasting money on 100% silicone for a spot that gets painted, so I switched to a $9 paintable latex and it has held up all monsoon season. Am I the only one who had no clue caulk was that specific, or did everyone else learn this from their dad?
