My buddy dropped out of our group chat for 8 months because we made plans without him one Saturday
Three years ago my friend group had five guys in it. Now we have three. The whole thing broke apart because of one Saturday in October when four of us grabbed lunch at a place in Sacramento and forgot to invite Marcus. He found out from an Instagram story. He quit the group chat that night and did not say a word to any of us for 8 months. When he finally answered my call, he said "you guys replaced me and did not even notice." I tried to explain it was a last minute thing, but he was not wrong about the feeling. Here is my hot take: adults treat every small snub like it is nothing, but they stack up. If you want friends at 35, you have to over-communicate the boring stuff. So how do you patch things up with someone who felt left out, or do you just let it go?
